Every time Hank tried to change his gender and name on official documents, he found it too "overwhelming." And he wasn't the only one. "I wanted to be able to talk to someone face to face, because every time I open the website to do it online, I get overwhelmed and want to hide under the couch," Hank said during the event. "I thought if I came here, I would be in the room where you wouldn't have a chance to go back."

For all transgender people who have experienced difficulty with this, there was a unique massive 'Change ID' event in the South Australian city of Melbourne. Transgender people who for some reason had difficulty getting their gender or names updated on their official documents, came together to do so during the event.

Other transgender people at the event said it was very important that they understood and felt welcome. ''It's really cool to live around more transgender people. I'm out and about in the country, so I can't often be with like-minded people and feel open and comfortable."
