WATCH: Irish LGBT+ seniors celebrate their first Pride

For several years, bus company Dublin Bus has played a prominent role in the annual Pride parades in Dublin where homosexuality was illegal till 1993. They released a special commercial in which elderly LGBT+ people are given a wonderful opportunity: an invitation to their first Pride parade!

In ‘’The Long Road to Pride’’ we are introduced to four elderly LGBT+ people who share their struggles of being LGBT+ in a less accepting and extremely conservative time. They also admit to having never attended a Pride Parade. The commercial however shows that there is a first time for everything!



Four younger LGBT+ people show up to invite them to their very first Dublin Pride. While hesitant at first, all four seniors accept their invite and the result is absolutely beautiful!

This is not the first time Dublin Bus released a touching video surrounding Pride: Last year they made the heart-warming ‘’Proud dads of LGBT+’’ video.
