Taiwan: 1,000+ gay couples got married since legalisation same-sex marriage
526 marriages took place the day the new law was introduced after the fight for marriage equality for three decades by LGBT+ activists. Uniformity in Taiwan is undoubtedly a huge step in the right direction for LGBT + rights, yet it is not without limits. According to the procedure, same-sex couples may only adopt children who are biologically related to at least one of the parents. According to the Ministry, none of the newlyweds have applied for adoption.
