Study: Grindr users more likely to hook up with low battery
According to professor David Stuart; “Addiction has many definitions, but one of them includes a compulsive pursuit of a dopamine release in our brains. Each button we touch holds the promise of sexual excitement or satisfaction, sometimes even a cure for loneliness or isolation.”
The participants were given several situations in which they either had 5, 20 or 100% battery life. The participants with a lower battery were more likely to hook up than those with a full battery. The researchers were inspired by an earlier study executed by Uber among their own users.
