Ruby Rose as Batwoman: victory for the LGBT community

Australian genderfluid actress and model Ruby Rose has confirmed via her Instagram that the CW network has purchased her Batwoman TV series for a full season. Batwoman, played by Ruby herself, will be openly LGBT+. It makes "Batwoman" the first LGBT superhero to lead a TV or movie series! Ruby calls this "a victory for the entire community".

CW picked up the series for the 2019 - 2020 TV season. Rose plays the Batwoman character based on the DC Comics comics with the same name, Batman. Rose her Batwoman first appeared on December 9 in the TV show "Elseworlds", a crossover program with characters from Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl.

The actress who became famous for her part in Orange Is The New Black, announced that the series will be broadcast by CW on her Instagram, where she also shared a short teaser of the show. "I suddenly woke up at 4 in the morning ... and I received a message that Batwoman is coming to CW this fall !!!" she wrote on her Instagram story. "I cannot thank everyone who is involved enough, and I will not try until I am well awake."
