The writer of the infamous Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series, J.K. Rowling, revealed that the wizards Dumbledore and Grindewald were in an intense and passionate love relationship. However, many fans have expressed their disappointment that the writer took so long to reveal this.

There were hints and speculations going on for quite some time regarding the sexuality of the two characters, but on a Blu-ray edition of the latest Fantastic Beasts release, Rowling confirmed the homosexual relationship between Dumbledore and Grindewald: "Their relationship was incredibly intense. It was passionate, and it was a love relationship.’’ She also said that there was a sexual dimension within their relationship.

On social media, fans criticized the writer for being a little too late with this revelation. Many note how the writer has explicitly omitted these details in the books and movies, claiming that this was in order to ensure a profit among the general public.
