“I never thought in my life that I would get beaten up for being gay.’’ Williams wrote on his social media. With an accompanying photo of his injuries, he expressed his disgust and shock regarding the attack. After a night out, he was attacked by an unidentified man in front of the McDonalds. After he was beaten unconscious, the attacker fled the scene with two other men and a woman.

Williams wrote on his social media: "I want people to understand that being gay isn't a choice and I can’t help it, I’m sorry that you can’t deal with it but hey ho no need to knock someone out because of it.’’. He closed his message with: "Stand strong and love yourself, this isn’t gonna stop me from being fabulous. Being gay is OK."
