Wendy Williams tells gay men: ‘’stop wearing our skirts and our heels’’

In her Hot Topics segment, Williams asked her audience who was planning on celebrating ‘Galentine’s Day’ (unofficial holiday which centers around women celebrating the other women in their lives). After seeing one of her male audience members clapping, she said: ‘’If you’re a man and you’re clapping, you’re not even a part of this. You don’t understand the rules of the day. It’s women going out and getting saucy and then going home. You’re not a part.’’

“I don’t care if you’re gay. You don’t get a [menstruation] every 28 days,” Williams added. “You can do a lot that we do, but I get offended by the idea that we go through something you will never go through.”

Williams continued her rant, referencing the trend of gender fluid fashion donned by the likes of Billy Porter: ''And stop wearing our skirts and our heels. Just saying, girls, what do we have for ourselves?" Finally, Williams ended by saying, "Looky here now, gay men, you’ll never be the women that we are. No matter how gay, sir." Safe to say, people on social media are not having it and are calling the TV host out for her comments. Some were also quick to point out her lack of knowledge regarding the history of fashion.

Williams later uploaded a video to her YouTube channel apologizing to the LGBTQI+ community. Watch the video below:
