Madonna’s latest single in honour of Stonewall’s 50th anniversary

The Queen of Pop released the second single of her upcoming ‘Madame X’ album today: I Rise! The song is a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York.

Madonna wrote the following in regard to her latest release: “I wrote ‘I Rise’ as a way of giving a voice to all marginalised people who feel they don’t have the opportunity to speak their mind.’’

"This year is the 50th anniversary of Pride and I hope this song encourages all individuals to be who they are, to speak their minds and to love themselves.”

Pop diva Kylie Minogue also released her latest single New York City today as promotion for her upcoming Greatest Hits album ‘Step Back in Time’. In other words: two supreme divas to kick the weekend off with!
